6 Strongest Weapons in Anime

 

I think it goes without saying that anime action scenes are among the coolest fight scenes on the planet.

I mean, who doesn’t want to see some demonic monsters head get chopped off by a 20 foot scythe wielded by a hot redhead with fire powers?

UNCULTERED PEOPLE THAT’S WHO!!

 

Don’t get me wrong.  “Regular” action movies are great too, but there is something about the awesomeness of anime weapons that “scratch the itch” of every true anime fan looking for gore.

 

But with thousands of awesome anime, and millions of weapons, how can we know which are the strongest?

Well right here were going to find out.  Let’s check out some of the greatest anime weapons of all time, and then find out which are most likely to CLAP the enemy into oblivion.

 

6:   Sheele’s Cutter of Creation: Extase, Akame Ga Kill

 

Now with all the badass swords and guns in anime, I’m sure you didn’t think a pair of scissors would make it into this list.

But this isn’t any ordinary pair of scissors.  This is a giant, nearly indestructible and incredibly sharp pair of scissors.

In fact it’s so sharp that it is able to cut through almost ANY material.  This includes the armor “teigu Incursio” which was told to us to be unbreakable in the show.

Aside from it’s sharpness, Extase can block bullets and even defend against the most powerful melee weapons in the show.

But that’s not all.

This weapon also has a trump card.  And it’s so unbelievably useful that it single handedly brought this weapon into the top 6 list.

 

Trump Card : Blinding light

As the name suggests, these scissors are able to emit a giant flash of light to blind opponents.  Sheel is able to use this to gain the competitive edge over nearly anyone.  It makes it easy to distract and attack from a different angle, or even to retreat if necessary.  These scissors are nearly perfect in every way.

5. Demon Slicer Lostvayne: Meliodas, Seven Deadly Sins.

 

This small curved shortsword is meliodas’ treasured weapon.  While the sword is cool on it’s own, its not just the steel that makes it incredible.

The power associated with this masterpiece is what makes it so special.

Meliodas himself is strong as shit.  As a demon, he is stronger, faster and tougher than nearly any human.  His ability : Full counter, allows him to reflect any magic attack sent at him and send it back with MORE power.

Pretty sweet right?

But his sword, Lostvayne, increases this power exponentially.  The swords’ ability allows him to clone himself and to split power among those clones.

Know what that means?  Multiple ‘full counter’ attacks.  This pretty much renders magic attacks done to Meliodas useless.  Imagine throwing 5 fireballs at this guy and all 5 go right back at your face WITH added power to them.

While this sword may not make it into this list alone, coupled with the right user it certainly is a force to reckon with.

 

4: Demon-Slayer Sword: Asta, Black Clover

 

This one is probably my favorite melee weapon of all times.  At first glance this sword is nothing special.  It’s just a heavy ass steel sword that isn’t particularly “cool” in terms of its looks.

But in a world full of mage’s and magic, this weapon plays a primary role in the plot of the show.

This weapons true power comes from its… anti power.

It’s an anti-magic sword. 

And no it doesn’t deflect spells back at the attacker or create any special fireball attack or anything.  But it LITERALLY just STOPS magic, dead in its tracks.

And I do mean ALL magic.  From attacks to barriers this thing just completely nullifies everything. 

 

3: Exploding Kunai : Naruto (almost all characters)

I know what you’re thinking.  With all the amazing and powerful weapons out there, how does a small hunk of metal with no powers make it into this list.

But give me a chance to change your mind….

One of the reasons I like Naruto so much is that even though there are really cool powers and techniques, the characters in this world are much more “human” than in other anime’s.

For instance a character in DBZ can withstand a blast that would blow up planets.  This is not the case in Naruto, which makes it SO much more interesting to me.

The reason this weapon makes it to this list is not for its power, it’s for its versatility.

Kunai’s are lightweight and incredibly sharp, making it the perfect ninja tool to keep handy in your pocket.  There are plenty of times demonstrated in the show that these ninjas can easily die from just a few sharp kunai forcing them to bleed out.

The ninja are able to throw these as weapons, but more importantly as distractions. The opponent HAS to dodge when one of these are hurling at their head, which allows the ninja to attack from another direction, or even replace themselves with the kunai (like minato).

While the Kunai is cool on its own, once you slap an explosive tag on it, it’s even more powerful.

This offers all the same versatility as a regular kunai WITH the added benefit of an explosion.  Shikamaru is able to defeat one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki by leading him into a trap of these.

I know the weapon itself doesn’t necessarily offer some huge power compared to a giant pair of scissors that blinds people and deflects bullets.  But in the right hands it is able to offer so much more.

 

2: Saiga’s Camera, Speed Grapher

Lights. Camera. BOOM.

This is literally just a camera, right?

Well what if I told you that anything you take a picture of EXPLODES.  

Okay well to be fair it’s not the camera itself, but thanks to the user’s abilities, Saiga is able to explode anything he snaps a picture of.

Literally, just take out the camera, snap a picture and BOOM.  Explosion.

It’s not particularly flashy or anything and maybe not as “cool” as a sword or gun, but dang am I happy this wasn’t used in Pokemon Snap.

 

1: The Death Note

I’m sure you saw this one coming. While a camera that makes everything explode sounds pretty awesome, every weapon we’ve talked about pales in comparison to the death note.

In case you haven’t watch this anime masterpiece (you need to right now), the Death Note is basically a journal in which whoever’s name gets written in it, dies.

All you need is to see a face and a name, and the user is able to win any fight.  But the best part?

The user can also control the means in which the subject dies. 

In the anime, the main character Light is able to stay completely anonymous (well.. mostly), and dictate all of life as we know it.

I think it goes without saying that the Death Note is by far the greatest weapon we have ever seen used in anime.

While this list doesn’t cover all the amazing weapons we have seen used, we did cover a bit of every KIND of weapon.

We have swords, scissors a camera and a book.  

But I don’t think there is really any argument to be made over which of these weapons is the absolute strongest.  The Death Note wins by a landslide.  Do you agree?
